Palau was in 2009 het eerste land ter wereld dat een nationaal haaiereservaat instelde. Het Jellyfish Lake bevat miljoenen kwallen zonder functionele stekels die dagelijks de zon volgen van oost naar west. Bezoekers moeten de Palau Pledge ondertekenen, een belofte om het milieu te beschermen.

Palau was the first country in the world to establish a national shark sanctuary in 2009. Jellyfish Lake contains millions of jellyfish without functional stingers that follow the sun daily from east to west. Visitors must sign the Palau Pledge, a promise to protect the environment.
